The Philippine National Police on Monday said it has arrested 567 people including 40 police officers for violating the nationwide gun ban. Of the 567, 40 were police officers, 25 were from the military, 23 were government employees and 479 were civilians. Police said it has recovered 486 firearms, 731 gun replicas, 84 bladed weapons and 16 grenades or explosives. The PNP earlier said it is sending police violators of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) nationwide gun ban to reform school.
