While the location has not been disclosed, the Peace Bridge historically has been the site of the launch of the NRP’s “Festive Season R.I.D.E. Program” on late Sunday afternoons during the Christmas season when the Buffalo Bills host an NFL game. “It is believed thousands of vehicles and drivers will be stopped at this R.I.D.E. checkpoint,” the email states. Last year, 3,900 vehicles were stopped and 124 roadside breath tests were administered resulting in 18 12-hour licence suspensions and four impaired driving charges.
