The piracy going on off Somalia is really illustrative of the effect invincibility, or lack thereof, has on security. The ships being attacked are unable to resist selection for interference because they are unable to hide the fact that they are freighters and that they are loaded. Unfortunately, it is currently passe for freighters to sport counter-interference capability so there really is no down-side for the pirates to help themselves. The choice is either resume sporting self-defense measures or pay to have 'police' ships to try to intervene on your behalf.
