Six soldiers were reportedly wounded after alleged members of the New People's Army ambushed a military truck in Sorsogon province Thursday, a military spokesman said. In a text message, 9th Infantry Division spokesman Major Harold Cabunoc said that at 11 a.m., around six NPA rebels ambushed the truck loaded with 30 soldiers who were involved in a tree-planting ceremony in Barangay (village) Montecarmelo, Castilla town. Five soldiers were wounded after the truck crashed into bushy ravine near the roadside, Cabunoc said.
