As onlookers started frantically trying to wave down the train, an off-duty police officer heard all the shouting and screams.  He ran to the platform where he saw the situation, jumped down on the tracks and dragged the man to safety with less than one second to spare.

Admittedly, the train was stopping anyway, but it does show a certain amount of wallendas ...
