Hewlett-Packard is close to a deal to buy ArcSight, a maker of security software, for about $1.5 billion, a person briefed on the matter said on Sunday, as the computing giant continues its recent buying spree.

It's good to see that all the biggies are continuing to acquire security and encryption firms ... I just hope they aren't doing it to take the products out of the marketplace ...
