In a move that is likely to put an end to the debate in the ruling dispensation over the Naxal policy, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has said that acts of terror should be addressed “decisively and forcefully” even as she emphasised the need for development initiatives to reach the grassroots to address the root cause of Naxalism.
The report, prepared by one of the Army commands, deals with resources required to tackle the Naxal menace, if the Army is called out to fight the Maoists. "The Naxal situation is likely to be discussed and the resources required to tackle it, will be taken up by army commanders during the conference," said a source.
