The National Fire Protection Association reports 403,000 residential fires in 2008, or about 1,100 per day. On the other hand, Department of Justice statistics show 5,000-8,000 home invasions reported every day.  That’s right, there are 5 to 8 TIMES more home invasions every year than there are residential fires!
