Security ... think about it!
The DS210+ is notable for being equipped with a 256-bit AES hardware encryption engine that can offload security encryption processing away from the CPU, an unnamed 1GHz processor. The hardware-based encryption helps boost reading by about 200 percent compared to a pure software encryption solution, claims Synology. In a Windows environment, the Linux-based Synology DS210+ delivers 108+ MB/sec reading and 58+ MB/sec writing performance, claims the company. The device's web server, meanwhile, was said to be benchmarked at 78.14 seconds for completing 1,000 simultaneous requests.
