I have just been in a shoot-out with a gang of Bangkok’s red shirts... and lived. Well, they were only shooting water-pistols, and it was in a long-running and hilarious water fight – a modern twist on a traditional element of Songkran, the Thai New Year festival, which typically sees Bangkok descend into a city-wide water war.
