Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is now beginning to look ineffective as tens of thousands of red shirt protesters are still in downtown Bangkok, now for the sixth day. Every major shopping mall is closed, most of the stores in the Siam area are closed, and tourists are checking out of downtown Bangkok hotels in droves.
