Joshua Mumata and his father traveled from Joppa, Mo., to attend the Legends of Kung Fu Martial Arts Championship on Saturday. Joshua, who is 10, doesn't play soccer, baseball, basketball or any other team sport. He focuses entirely on kung fu, practicing an hour or two a day and attending four classes per week."It's fun," he said. "It teaches me self-discipline and self-defense."Joshua joined about 500 other participants ranging in age from 5 to 82 at the three-day event, which is being held at the Plano Centre and ends today. They came from around the U.S. and from other countries, such as China and Japan, said organizer Jimmy Wong.
