Security ... think about it!
With the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics days away, the World Sikh Organization of Canada is urging Sikh spectators to review the policy that permits the wearing of the kirpan, a religious dagger, into all venues. “As the Olympics get closer, people get more and more excited, so I wanted to refresh the community of the policy,” WSO Canada President Prem Singh Vinning said on Wednesday. He said while most Sikhs seem to know the provision exists, it’s important they read and follow the guidelines closely in order to minimize the security issues that could arise.
